The mother of all staves
Shaping the pre-war bowl!
Respecting the victims of the tragic event in Japan, I left some days in between, before writing my next post.
Giannis started to form the pre-war bowl, from the beautiful amber color, mulberry staves.
He sent me a photo after placing the first stave on the mold, which been called "μάνα δόγα ή δουγομάνα" (mother of all staves)
The dimensions of the bowl will be:
max length: 37.5 cm, max width: 25.5 cm
This bouzouki construction will take its time, as both luthier and I, decided to give a great attention at every step and detail, in this attempt to turn back time, almost 100 years.
