Two cases from a bygone era !
The talented luthier, and custom hard-case maker, Pantelis Agkistriotis , (http://kavouki.com/ ) has finalized the skeleton ( outer shell ) of two (2) 1910s hard-cases replicas.
One of them will host the 1911 A. Stathopoulos bouzouki, and the other one, the 1910s Fotis Vracas bouzouki.

Pantelis constructed the frame of the cases by the use of birch veneer, a high quality wood, with regards to its longevity and durability.
The wood veneer was the most popular material during the 1910s era, and was used for the construction of hard-cases’ skeleton ( outer shell).
The A. Stathopoulos case has been covered exteriorly with a vintage style, waterproof , black color, faux leather.
The case carries nickel plated, antique, hardware.
The inner lining, made by silk and rayon is in “dusty rose “ color , a popular color during the 1910s and 1920s.
Epiphone company will use the same unique color even after A Stathopoulo’s death, for the lining of some of their top quality guitar and banjo cases, during the 1920s-1930s era.
The Fotis Vracas case has been covered exteriorly with a vintage style, waterproof , brown color, faux leather.
The case carries brass antique hardware.
The inner lining, made by silk and rayon is in “sage green “ color , also a popular color for lining of hard cases during the 1910s and 1920s.
Pantelis Agkistriotis will use the same time-consuming and difficult old style technique ( with hide glue) for the installation of the inner lining!
Stay tuned as the two bouzouki hard-cases are approaching their completion, and for the first time we will witness how A. Stathopoulos top- notch bouzoukia sold with their custom cases during the 1910s.
