Revelation : The Art of Salvation

Part II

The talented hagiographer Fani Kalamari ( Φανη Καλαμαρη ) sent me few more steps from the creation of the  massive composition of a Byzantine icon ( inspired by the Revelation of John ). 

The artist has finalized the color preforms (προπλασμους), and has started painting the highlight passes and all necessary details. 

The hagiographer builds her composition from bottom up, starting with the areas which carry shadows and darkest tones, and passing  to the lighter areas and the highlights.
