The apple of discord !- Το μήλο της έριδος

Custom , one of a kind , fully handcrafted bouzoukia !

A new chapter in bouzouki making  has been initialized with the recent collaboration between the talented luthier Stelios Tsilimigkas and the designs by 1821 Studio Inc.

Scope of the collaboration is the construction of one of a kind ,custom, fully handcrafted, high quality  bouzouki instruments !

Each bouzouki will be designed by 1821 Studio Inc , carrying  the expertise and knowledge , obtained through years in research and development  of  string musical instruments- following the golden ratio algorithm, -and unique aesthetics!

Top quality, old woods and materials will then be used  by the talented hands of the luthier Stelios Tsilimigkas creating small masterpieces of sound and quality!
Following old master techniques of string musical instrument construction , using for example only animal glue, manual tools, and French polishing ( Shellac) , we aim to carry-on the beautiful art of Greek traditional lutherie

We are approaching the creation of bouzouki instruments far beyond the common business model which nowadays exists !

Motivated by love and passion for bouzouki making, only a very small number of instruments will be produced per year . The bouzoukia will pass through great levels of quality assurance for sound and durability.
Each bouzouki design will be unique and will never be reproduced .

The new endeavor starts with the creation of a unique three course prewar bouzouki . The bowl is created by old redish apple wood with beautiful grain ! Stay tuned !

    1. Hello LarryS
      Well... very different
The Neapolitan style mandolin may look at first sight as the Greek bouzouki due to both carrying the curved back bowl , but their scale and tuning is completely different . Back in 1930s some Greek luthiers converted Neapolitan style mandolins to small- bouzouki by keeping the bowl and soundboard and extending the neck / fretboard to the bouzouki scale snd tuning
