Fotis Vracas NY 1910s bouzouki

With the marks of original player’s fingers still on fretboard !

A 1910s F. Vracas NY , multi course,  prewar bouzouki reached my destination.

The original survived nut has a 3-2-2 set up ( from lower to higher)

It appears to carry the original fretboard which remarkably shows the marks from the original player’s  fingers (as the wood is more light at some frets/ spots)

The Vracas bouzouki is  a solid contraction with a very lightweight bowl made by 23  maple and rosewood staves.. The scale is 64 cm, the pick-guard is made by tortoise shell , the fret-markers by natural White Sea shell, and the tuning machine knobs by bone

In collaboration with Jake, the luthier who restored it , we decided to tune it one tone lower ( the original lower prewar tuning of Do-Sol-Do)  and with a 22-9-9 / 12-12 / 9-9 string gauges.

The sound is the characteristic prewar sound , with a sweet timbre and a great depth.
