As the luthier creates the mold.

I feel butterflies in my stomach!

Giannis Tsoulogiannis informed today that he began to construct the mold, by taking accurate measurements from an original A.Stathopoulos bouzouki which he has in his possession.

After a lot of research, I made a final change regarding the decoration of the pick-guard.
A flower-Lyra theme which I had designed originally , is been now replaced by a majestic Pre-war style butterfly.

I always wanted to create a bouzouki instrument with a beautiful butterfly decoration in the middle of the pick-guard, especially after seen the trichordo mulberry bouzouki which the luthier constructed back in 2010.

But some of the butterfly designs from 1910s era ( especially on Neapolitan mandolins), were lacking essential details, especially on the wings. The decoration looked very bulk, heavy, and not refined.

I finally decided to design my own butterfly, which will be assembled by smaller pieces of natural shells.

Due to the pre-war era, I will ask the luthier to find and use a very soft color of natural abalone, for some parts of the butterfly. The rest of the design will be made by natural white mother of Pearl
