Beauty in details
The Neapolitan style soundboard !
Giannis Tsoulogiannis sent me yesterday four more photos illustrating the detailed and beautiful work of the soundboard's decoration.
The rosewood pick-guard will be placed on top of the sound board (a common technique used by the old bouzouki luthiers) and not flushed to the soundboard as the current bouzoukia have.
Next week the luthier will shape and form the instrument's neck covering the back of it with a beautiful coating of rosewood ply.
After cutting the fret slots, the luthier will start shaping the fret inlays (tsampoukades), made by Mother of Pearl.
