Alignment of staves

And a floral rosette!

Giannis Tsoulogiannis informed me today, that the creation of the A/I Stathopoulos bowl will be postponed for one more week, as the luthier, is still finalizing the symmetry of the new mold, down to the T.

This extra time, gave me the  opportunity to create different combinations of the rosewood-maple bouzouki staves.
Usually on  a two tones bouzouki bowl we see the  standard "Alternately-(Εναλλαξ)" alignment. But the way someone can combine the two tones of wood on a bouzouki bowl, can create some unique and  interesting visual outcomes.

Following I illustrate a couple of  different combinations on a 15 staves bouzouki bowl.

Standard Alternately Alignment

Use of one wood tone as Partition  (1-3-1)

Grouping the wood tones (3-3)

The 1-2-1 alignment

 

The Serial alignment (1-2 and 2-3)

Finally, looking to create a  new floral design  for a tzoura rosette,( made by bone), I came up with the following designs.
