The Neapolitan step
Just before the butterfly spreads her wings!
The luthier sent me photos after placing the wooden marquetry fillets around the capping strip of the A/I Stathopoulos bowl.
He also cleaned, and scarped inside out the rosewood and maple staves, removing any excessive glue, which was remaining on the bowl after its removal from the mold.
He started also to form the famous Neapolitan step on the soundboard and fit it to the capping strip's profile.
Using paper, the luthier stabilized the connections between the staves inside the bowl.
He also selected the natural sea Shells for the creation of the elaborated butterfly which will decorate the pick-guard.
