Final strokes

As the final strokes in design of the pre-war trixordo completed, the journey to reverse the time, back to the beginning of the 20th century, found me in dilemma regarding the design of my trixordo's pick guard decoration.

I was loosing the path, as I was creating elaborated styles, for an era characterized by the simplicity, poorness and the uprooting of immigration. It was the time named as the in "Between the Wars ".

To order an instrument with the correct style, I had to place myself, living in my town almost 100 years ago.Thankfully to a great site (http://www.helenica.de/) I found two typical pictures of my city from 1910s and 1920s.Looking at them and recognizing the streets where the photos been taken, gave me the great inspiration I was looking for.
.

And as one research brought another, I found a great collection of pictures from the book :Athens from Postcards of the Past - Editions Sideris, 2001 - (Η Αθήνα μέσα από κάρτ-ποστάλ του παρελθόντος, Eκδόσεις Σιδέρης 2001). I hope you will enjoy them as much as, I did.
